But few people take the time to escape, even for a few hours, beyond the coastline.<\/p><p class=\"p2\">And yet, less than fifty kilometres away, you'll find a completely different backdrop: gentle hills, hilltop villages, winding roads lined with olive trees and spectacular panoramic views of the Mediterranean, set against the backdrop of the purple rocks of the Est\u00e9rel massif. A luminous, refined hinterland, where Provence is revealed in its most authentic - and most desirable - form.<\/p><h3 class=\"p3\">Grasse, the perfumed soul of Provence <b><\/b><\/h3><p class=\"p2\">The world's perfume capital, Grasse has a rich heritage and serene flower-filled hills. Around the town, the villages of Plascassier, Ch\u00e2teauneuf-de-Grasse, Le Rouret, Opio and Roquefort-les-Pins create an elegant Provence, where centuries-old bastides, Belle \u00c9poque villas and contemporary properties coexist harmoniously.<\/p><p class=\"p2\">The historic cradle of perfumery since the XVI\u1d49 century, Grasse has seen its expertise enshrined by UNESCO with the inclusion of three emblematic practices in the intangible cultural heritage of humanity: the cultivation of perfume plants, the processing of raw materials and the art of composing perfume.
